WCSD graduation rate exceeds state average

The Waukee Community School District (CSD) prides itself on its staff and students for continually rising above the standards and exceeding the expectations given to them. Iowa’s high school graduation rate for 2021 was 90.2%, according to figures released by the Iowa Department of Education.

Waukee CSD is proud to excel above the state average with a 2021 graduation rate of 98.3%, one of the highest in the state for a 4A district.

According to Superintendent, Dr. Brad Buck, “The graduation rate is a great reminder that all parts of the organization impact our students’ experiences and the end result of graduation. While we all want a 100% success rate, it’s worth taking a moment to appreciate the hard work behind these results from all of our staff. »

Iowa graduation rates are calculated using a formula established by the United States Department of Education. Unique student identification numbers allow school districts to account for all ninth-graders as they progress through high school. At the state level, the method helps determine when a student graduates, even if the student changed districts in Iowa while in high school.
