We’ve seen it time and time again, especially when the pandemic hit and restaurants were hit hard – with customers showing extra love when they tip their servers and leave more money than normal. . And while there are still the occasional party that will still tip waiters, for the most part the generosity still seems to be there.
And while generous tips have been left for servers who do their best while understaffed, exhibit exceptional service, or even remain standing after a turbulent few years in the food industry, sometimes it goes further. that.
A family paid tribute to their mother at Inn on the Blues in York
Something amazing happened yesterday at the Inn on the Blues in York Beach, Maine. While dining at what is considered York Beach’s “Top Gathering Spot”, a family went to lunch at the Inn on the Blues in honor of the 84th birthday of their mother, who sadly passed away at the 83 years old.
After finishing their lunch in the heart of York Beach, the family left their table and walked out of the restaurant, but they also left something for their server, Madisyn McCormack – a greeting card. And inside was both a heartfelt message and a heartfelt gift.
“Today we celebrate our mother. She would have been 84 today. This is the first since she passed away. She loved going out to lunch, shopping, socializing and helping others. Please please enjoy it and use it for whatever helps you or makes you feel joy!”
The heartfelt tribute to their mother which ended in a generous surprise did not go unnoticed by Madisyn, who posted a photo of the card with the following caption:
“The service industry can be really tough at times (most of the time), but things like this are so worth it. I’m glad I got to be part of their celebration with them.”
Sometimes a lunch isn’t just a lunch. Sometimes a tip isn’t just a tip. And sometimes a server doesn’t just serve food and drinks to customers – they can serve a heartfelt tribute to a lost loved one without even knowing it. A great reminder that you never know what someone is going through on either side of this or any situation.
