Hunt: Showdown’s Traitor’s Moon event extended after ‘server issues and bugs’

Hunt: Showdown developer Crytek has apologized to players for the “server issues, bugs and, for the console, sensitivity issues” that plagued its latest limited-time event, Traitor’s Moon.

To make up for lost time, the event will be extended until April 18.

“These [issues] have all been very frustrating and we understand the impact the downtime and issues have had for many of you,” Crytek said in a candid statement posted to its social media.

“As of now, we are extending the event until April 18 to allow those affected by this some extra time to complete the event as much as possible.”

Therefore, the team says it recognizes that some players “may have lost boosts due to downtime” and are therefore “figuring out how best to compensate for them.” While he can’t comment yet on how he intends to fix this, he promises to “keep you posted once we know more.”

Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown is set in 1890s Louisiana where you must explore the swamplands in this survival horror FPS to find your monster mark, while an Undead Nightmare-esque blight descends on the map. A mix of Old West mythology and iconography, the gameplay involves frenetic gunplay with old-school weaponry, but the interesting approach to gameplay by including PVE and PVP engagements is what makes this shoot- lawless em-up.

“Crytek is doing everything possible to maintain player retention while welcoming new hunters,” we said in our post, Hunt Showdown is the best game you’re not playing right now (opens in a new tab).

“No doubt this game will find a small but highly motivated, potentially cult following, but it would be great to see it achieve greater success. I want more hunters to take me down, more fighting for clues on the map, No more unique encounters. Pretty much every standout moment for me has revolved around meeting other players on the map. Without them, this game will die an unfair death for stragglers picking up the carcass.
