FileZilla Server is an FTP server that supports FTP and FTP over SSL/TLS. FTP over SSL/TLS provides secure encrypted connections to the server. FileZilla supports SSL, the same level of encryption supported by your web browser, to protect your data. When you use SSL, your data is encrypted so prying eyes can’t see it, and your confidential information is protected. It also supports inline data compression, which can improve transfer rates. Unfortunately, the compression setting can have mixed results, so it’s advised to use it with caution. It is possible for already compressed files to be transferred over the network using more than their original data size.

New Features in FileZilla Server 1.3.0:

  • Setup wizard to configure passive mode
  • Linux: Warn if button sysctl kernel.yama.ptrace_scope is 0
  • Linux: Refuse to run if button sysctl fs.protected_hardlinks is 0

Bug fixes and minor changes:

  • Admin UI: rejecting a certificate fingerprint prompt no longer triggers automatic reconnections
