Daily Covid cases in Kerala have been declining steadily over the past few weeks and on Saturday 1,088 new cases were recorded, while the test positivity rate stood at 4.93%, a statement from Health Minister Veena George.
While 2,037 recoveries have been reported, for the first time in several months the total number of active cases has fallen below 10,000 to 9,530.
There has been just one Covid death for the day, bringing the total death toll in the state to 66,793 so far.
On the vaccination front, 100% (2.69 crore) received one dose, with 87% (2.32 crore) taking both doses.
Similarly, among the above 15-18 year olds, 78% (11.99 lakh) received one dose, while 43% (6.56 lakh) also received their second dose.
