HYDERABAD: Just days after the state’s health department warned the third wave was on its way, Telangana’s Covid-19 positivity rate surpassed 1% on Saturday – for the first time in four months. On Saturday, 28,886 tests were performed statewide and 317 people tested positive for the coronavirus.

In the past two days, the number of daily cases has also surpassed the 300 mark, with the daily figures within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s limits alone being over 200.
The positivity rate reflects the total number of people who tested positive for the virus among the total number of people tested for Covid-19. So far, nearly 3 crores of Covid-19 tests have been carried out across Telangana.
