‘Conflict’ New York judge delays Forex Exec fraud conviction

By Rachel Scharf (August 22, 2022, 2:39 p.m. EDT) – A federal judge in Brooklyn said Monday he is not ready to sentence a foreign exchange firm executive convicted of a fraudulent scheme targeting the community Korean-American from New York, pointing to letters of support “completely inconsistent with the kind of gross abuse” shown at trial.

US District Judge Raymond J. Dearie was to convict John Won, 53, of allegedly conspiring to steal more than $800,000 from investors in an underperforming foreign exchange firm called ForexNPower.
